Teeth whitening is not a lifelong solution, usually the results will last for a couple of years and depends a lot on your eating habits, coffee, tea intake and general dental hygiene.
As a first step, Dr. Anjana thoroughly examines the dental condition to check for any dental issues that may need attention along with discussing your aesthetic goals and if whitening is the correct procedure for your needs. She will also assess factors that might affect the whitening process like existing dental work, enamel thickness and quality.
A routine scaling/cleaning may be required to remove the plaque and tartar that may get in the way of an even whitening.
Then, your gums will be protected by a lip retractor and a protective gel to prevent irritation during the procedure.
As a next step, a professional-grade whitening gel containing strong bleaching agents will be applied over your teeth to break down the stains and discoloration. We will also use a special light to enhance the effectiveness of the gel.
It generally take around an hour to complete the procedure and gel may be applied couple of times to achieve maximum whiteness.
